New Zealand

Posted by Oliver on November 11th, 2008 at 7:02 pm

Mummy, George, Grandad and I are in New Zealand seeing Cousin Harvey, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Max, we’re having a great time. I’m a bit put out about Daddy not coming and am punishing him by not talking to him on the phone!

Love…

Posted by Oliver on November 4th, 2008 at 8:45 am

I think I’ve got a girlfriend. Maisy at nursery is my best friend. Daddy was talking to her Mum this morning and she said that I gave Maisy a big kiss last week and that Maisy ended up with a bit of a love bite afterwards. I don’t know what to say, I’m slightly embarrassed.

Poorly boy

Posted by Oliver on October 28th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

I’ve not been very well over the last few days. It started off on Friday when I got a bit of a temperature. On Saturday evening I was feeling quite unwell, with a temperature, runny nose, rash around my ear, conjunctivas and a general feeling of poorlyness! I went to the doctor’s today, but they said that Mummy and Daddy were doing everything right and that I should just get better in the next few days. I think they were worried about me having an ear infection too as I’m off to New Zealand next week and Mummy didn’t like the idea of me going on a plane with a bad ear.

Mummy’s birthday

Posted by Oliver on October 22nd, 2008 at 8:44 pm

It was Mummy’s birthday last week. George and I were around to celebrate it, but Daddy was away. George had been informed as to the whereabouts of the presents, so when we got up in the morning, we got them out of the drawer for Mummy. George got her some perfume, and I got her a book with photos of me from zero days old, until I was 17 months. I know she secretly thought it was the best present…

Phoning Daddy

Posted by Oliver on October 18th, 2008 at 8:30 pm

I had to speak to Daddy while he was away because I was missing him.

Daddy the nearly electrician

Posted by Oliver on October 18th, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Daddy went away last week to go to collage to do his exams. He passed all three with an average of 92%. He’s very pleased and I’m very proud of him.

Errrowww

Posted by Oliver on October 5th, 2008 at 7:44 pm

If I speak to anyone on the phone now, I shout errrowww to them, it’s my way of introducing myself. I don’t talk for long though as I like to shout bye bye too!

Holiday and all sorts

Posted by Oliver on September 24th, 2008 at 2:49 pm

Since I last posted, we’ve done a few things! We went on holiday to Pickering in Yorkshire and I met my Great Gramps, Great Auntie Norma, Great Uncle David AND Great Great Auntie Molly. We had a lovely time had a number of nice pub lunches with them all. I think Dad enjoyed sampling all the local bitters available!

Since we’ve been back, I’ve started chatting a lot more, I now say, car, cat, woof woof, clip clop, Daddy, Mummy, row row, and a few others. I’m walking VERY well now and like to put on George’s shoes at any opportunity and laugh and run off. I’m also learning to stick up for myself a bit more when George shoves me or takes things from me. Basically, I shove him back or steal whatever he has taken from me back. I don’t think he likes it anymore.

I’ve also (like George) become obsessed with trains, I shout ‘choo choo’ whenever I see one and get very excited about going on old steam trains, although the noise from them sometimes frightens me a little.

Daddy has finished work now, so he looks after us both on Mondays and Fridays while Mum works (she’s having to do an extra day a week now to get a bit more cash in!). I don’t know what he does with the rest of his time…

Hello hospital

Posted by Oliver on August 31st, 2008 at 6:37 pm

Daddy was supposed to be keeping an eye on me this afternoon but he failed to do it well. I climbed up the side of my highchair and the whole thing tipped over on top of me. I was pinned to the ground by it and I smashed my lip up pretty good. Mum came to the rescue and had a good look and took me to hospital. Home now with a big fat lip. Daddy is feeling terribly guilty, but I’ve insisted on getting all hugs from him tonight because I know he didn’t mean it to happen.

Miscellany

Posted by Oliver on August 28th, 2008 at 10:16 am

A few things have happened of late that I thought I’d inform you of.

1) I’ve got a couple more teeth now, one at the back, and another one coming through at the bottom front.

2) I fell down the stairs at nursery yesterday, well rolled really. I wasn’t too bothered but Mum was concerned.

3) I’ve become obsessed with bikes, every time I see one I shout ‘bike’ and continue to do so until someone acknowledges the fact.

4) George fell over and chipped his tooth (not about me I know, but thought I’d inform you).

5) I put the camera down the toilet today, it doesn’t work anymore, oh, and it was the new one too, not the old one that I’m sort of allowed to play with.

6) I can point to tractors, balls and bananas in my book now when asked to do so.

7) I have a favourite book at nursery, it’s a Thomas the tank engine book. I like to get it and sidle up to someone and sit on their lap to read it. This can be anyone, nursery staff, parents, even other smaller children, but they don’t seem to enjoy me plonking myself down on them.

So, there you are, just a few things that are going on right now.

Great Aunt Jen

Posted by Oliver on August 19th, 2008 at 7:24 am

Daddy, George and I went to Uncle Ralph’s house on Friday, I got to see all my cousins and play, but I also got to see my Great Aunt Jen, I’ve only met her once before so it was nice to see her again. We all had lots of fun playing in the garden, and as usual I ate a lot of food!

Daddy’s leaving date

Posted by Oliver on August 13th, 2008 at 3:37 pm

Daddy has been (finally) given a leaving date from work. His official last day should be the 5th September but we are going to my first cousin once removed’s (is that right) wedding. I think Daddy is quite keen to finally leave work, it means after all he gets to spend more time with me!

Sharks and Turtles

Posted by Oliver on August 13th, 2008 at 3:35 pm

Last Friday Daddy, George and I went to the SeaLife centre with all George’s friends from nursery. They were having a big day out, but as it wasn’t one of George’s usual days to go they said he could go along if Mummy or Daddy went too. We had a good time running round with the others, but then Daddy lost George for a bit and things got a bit fretful. We found him in the end though, so that’s good! I got excited going through the big tunnel and watching the turtle and sharks glide over our heads.
After that we had a picnic on the beach with everyone. It was a good day out. After that we were going to go over the road to the barn for some juggling and clowning around but I was so tired that I needed an extra long sleep. When I woke up Uncle Ralph and family were at our house so I got all excited again.

Sleepy boy

When I was out with Daddy in the park the other day, I got a bit tired so decided to sleep where I was:

Free ice cream

Posted by Oliver on July 29th, 2008 at 12:07 pm

We went up to Ben and Jerry’s Sundae on Clapham Common at the weekend. I got to eat quite a lot of ice cream while we were there. I also had great fun in the play area with Mum and the rest of the posse (Daisy, James, Pei Gui, Eleanor and Joseph). I thought the music was good too and I had a little dance, although Daddy said it was too loud (honestly, he’s such an old fuddy duddy now!). That said, James put his hands over his ears at one point too!

Upgrade

Posted by Oliver on July 23rd, 2008 at 3:09 pm

Daddy sorted out the blog today, that now means we can post to our blogs from his iPhone. Not only that, but now he has a spare one, we can do it when he’s not around too!

Blogout

Posted by Oliver on July 22nd, 2008 at 6:51 pm

Daddy tried to upgrade the version of wordpress that we use for mine and George’s blogs. This resulted in some serious mess up on his part. Fortunately he had been sensible enough to back everything up first. Needless to say, we are back where we started. If you did try to have a look at mine or George’s sites earlier today, all I can do is apologise for my silly Daddy’s actions.

Half George’s age

Posted by Oliver on July 16th, 2008 at 12:03 pm

Daisy pointed out that on the 28th June, I was exactly half George’s age. That will never happen again and it was a milestone that had gone previously unnoticed!

Dearth of posts

Posted by Oliver on July 16th, 2008 at 12:02 pm

I’ve not posted for a while because I have been concentrating so hard on learning to walk. It’s almost my preferred mode of transport (well, after crawling, the buggy, the car or being carried!). I can walk from room to room now without holding onto anything. I can turn round and come back too.

Camping and walking

Posted by Oliver on June 29th, 2008 at 6:51 pm

We had a great time over the weekend. I think I like camping, I like sitting around being good as gold while the others cause mischief! I took a bit of time to practice my walking and I managed 4 steps on my own. I’m very pleased about that. Later on I sat on Mummy’s shoulders while watching the steam trains and the choo choo made me jump so much, I nearly fell off!

Defiant

Posted by Oliver on June 26th, 2008 at 11:39 am

I’m very defiant now. If someone wants me to do something and I don’t want to (or indeed if they don’t want me to do something and I do want to) I will shake my head and say no before throwing myself to the floor and crying until someone gives in…

Unky Stu

Posted by Oliver on June 23rd, 2008 at 7:37 pm

Daddy, George and I all went to the park on Friday and met up with Stuart and James and had a fab time playing there. George and James insisted on going down the big slide, but I preferred the smaller but faster one. I also got the opportunity to show off my walking legs. I’m so nearly there now. I actually did take a couple of steps the other day, but am now only doing it when someone is there to hold my hand.

Father’s day

Posted by Oliver on June 16th, 2008 at 12:02 pm

Yesterday was Father’s day. George and I got Daddy a book all about Daddy bear and little bear which is good, because we call Daddy Daddy bear, and he calls us big bear and little bear. We also got him a cuddly teddy bear and George and I put some special bits in him, one from me and one from George. Mine was a heart beat. when Daddy squeezes bear, his heart goes ba-dum, ba-dum, ba-dum. George put in a little voice for him, so when Daddy squeezes his arm, George’s voice says ‘Daddy bear!’

Escaped the lurgy?

Posted by Oliver on June 16th, 2008 at 11:49 am

I don’t seem to have got George’s lurgy. I’m a bit grumpy though as I had my MMR jab just over a week ago and I’ve just started feeling a bit groggy from it. I didn’t want to go to sleep last night so I watched Pan’s labyrinth with Mum and Dad. Dad covered my eyes during the gory or scary bits though.

Strutting my stuff and more

Posted by Oliver on June 9th, 2008 at 11:06 am

I now walk around the room hanging onto anything I can. I’m also very good at eating my food now without any help, although quite often when I get bored of it, I throw the contents of my bowl onto the floor.

I think I’m becoming a boy (although George still calls me a baby)

night time = playtime

Posted by Oliver on May 28th, 2008 at 11:14 am

I woke up last night around midnight and decided I didn’t want to sleep. I did have a bit of a temperature, but nothing that was causing me any upset. I, however caused Mum and Dad quite a bit of upset by refusing to go back to sleep. I got in their bed with them and was still awake into the small hours. Then just to make things worse, I woke up at 6am, bright as a button.

Nocturnal boy

Posted by Oliver on May 22nd, 2008 at 9:54 am

Last night I went straight to sleep when Dad put me in my cot at 7 o’clock. At 9.30 I decided that I was no longer tired. I sat up in my cot and shouted for someone to come and get me out. Dad took me into the office (in the house, not at work) to try to get me to settle, but I was having none of it. In the end we went downstairs and I sat with Mum, but I still wasn’t going to sleep. Anyway, Mum got tired and went to bed so I played with Dad until about midnight. One of the things I like to do now is stand up and let go of everything, just to see how long I can stand on my own. Last night I got plenty of practice so am getting good at it now.

This morning when I woke up (at 5.30) in Mum and Dad’s bed, I started practicing that again. I don’t think Dad was very happy about it as he said he’d not had much sleep. Pah, sleep is for losers!
