Cuddles
Posted by Oliver on March 2nd, 2010 at 6:06 pmI’ve always enjoyed giving cuddles, but now I especially enjoy what I call ‘freeze duddles’. They are the ones when I squeeze and squeeze and won’t let go!!

Today is a bit strange for me, it’s the first day of my entire life so far that I’m not going to see Mummy at all. She has gone away for the weekend to escape from Dad!
I’ve been doing all my wees on the potty or standing up at the loo. Not quite got the hang of doing my other business anywhere other than my nappy, but one thing at a time eh!
Last week we went on holiday to Centre Parcs in Suffolk. We had a great time there, Standing Up Grandad* came too. We went swimming every day. They had some water slides, which I went on, some rapids, which I went down, and big waves, which I bobbed in. As well as all that, I spent a lot of my time just laying on my back in the pool gently swimming along. I love swimming! George on the other hand didn’t like it at all when we first got there. He’s lost a lot of confidence in the water, but I showed him how to do it, and by the end of the week he was swimming again. I’m a good little brother.
* other Grandad is called Sitting Down Grandad on account of his wheelchair!
This weekend has been very busy for us all. Yesterday was George’s birthday party. A bit late I know but we had to postpone it because of the snow. And today we went to Grace’s party. We also went to Tom, Deb and Jed’s house last night to see Karen as she was over from Spain. We always like going there because Jed is good fun and to make it even better, so were Iris and Eve.
We’ve had so much snow lately it’s beginning to get silly. It’s day 6 and cars are still finding it difficult to get up and down the road. Dad and Kelvin and John did clear the pavement and road outside our houses but it’s only good when people actually get to our bit! Today is the first day that nursery has been open for a week so we are off there today. We are leaving early though for George’s special birthday tea.
I’ve had so much fun over the last few days, most of it has been chocolate fuelled! Father Christmas brought me lots of presents as did family and friends. I’m a very lucky boy. I’ve also been told it’s the end of the year tomorrow and that there is also a blue moon. How exciting. I hope it really is blue…
I got into trouble For ripping open and ripping off the doors of mine and George’s advent calendars. Whoops! At least I didn’t do it to our shared Lego one.
We’ve got one advent calendar each, and a Lego one to share. No guesses as to which one is my favourite.
Mummy went to the parents evening at nursery the other day. They all said how lovely I was (I mean, that’s obvious anyway isn’t it?). They also said that I prefer to spend time talking to the grown ups rather than the other children. That’s because I get more sense out of them!
I fell all the way down the stairs today. I have a big bump on my forehead, but all in all I think I escaped quite well given that there is currently no stair carpet!
Mummy and Daddy are moving out of their bedroom to make way for George and I. It has a new window in, newly plastered walls, and will have a new carpet and a lick of paint very soon. I wanted a yellow room and George wanted it white, so a compromise is to be made….
I’ve decided I don’t want to wear pants. I do however ask to sit on the potty, but this is usually after I’ve had a wee!
Today I’m having lots of cuddles with Mummy on the Sofa because I’m not feeling very well. I woke up this morning and was sick in Mummy and Daddy’s bed so we all had to get up! I feel better for being cuddled.
We went to the theatre on Saturday morning before going to see Grandad and Granny for the weekend. We went with Mummy, Uncle Ian, Meghan, Alex and Amy. We saw ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. George got a bit scared of the snuffling bear noises and the loud growls he made in the dark but then he was relieved to see it was only a great big soppy teddy bear! I on the other hand loved the whole thing and sat on Uncle Ian’s lap to see it all. Daddy didn’t come with us though as he doesn’t like the book and so said he had no interest in it. Silly Daddy, he missed out on us all enjoying ourselves!
It seems to be getting darker earlier in the evenings and staying darker in the mornings. As a result I seem to be getting much more sleep. I’m sure if it weren’t for George still waking up early Mummy and Daddy would get lots more sleep too!

We went to Wales for a holiday last week. We had loads of fun, we went on a long walk along Rhossili beach and I went paddling in the sea. Daddy swam in the sea at Port Eynon too, but George and I decided it was too cold!
Old one here
Daddy has only been drinking pretend beer for the last couple of months, I think he decided to abstain because he is working hard nowadays and doesn’t like being groggy in the mornings!
It was Daddy’s birthday last week, we went to Justine’s wedding in Preston, Lancashire. While we were there a rather special time and date occurred, only happens every 100 years…

We went to see The Human League the other day whilst enjoying the Ben and Jerry icecream fest at Clapham Common. Here comes the Mirror Man!
We all went on a camping trip last week. We went to Mill Farm and it was really fun. I made two major advances while we were there. Firstly I learnt how to ride my scooter properly, and secondly, I learnt how to swim. We went swimming in a lovely heated pool every day and so I got quite good at it. I wasn’t too pleased when Daddy took my down the big slide that led into the very cold outdoor pool though!

Daddy was chasing me round and round the house a few days ago pretending to be the big bad wolf. All was going well and I was giggling and running and running and giggling, then I tripped and launched myself straight into the door jamb. Boy did it hurt!

I’ve got a big old tooth coming through at the back of my mouth. What with that and my general ability to have a tantrum at the drop of a hat, I can be quite a handful!

Gus came over to see George yesterday, and we all played over the park and in the house. I like to join in on what ever bigger boys do, so I was running round with them copying everything. In the afternoon we went over to see Auntie Tracy and Ben and Amy as Daddy was at work and Mummy had to go to work for a meeting. Ben is much bigger than me and is really into playing shooting us at the moment. Needless to say, after a few minutes George and I were running round ‘killing’ each other with guns. Not sure if that’s a good thing really!
I’ve been able to count to 10 for quite sometime now, but I also know my colours now too. Red, Green, Blue and Yellow are no bother for me, and I’m just getting started on some of the others too.
